8:30AM Sesame Street

Monday, Dec. 13
"Baby Bear Adjusts to Curlys Big Growl" Baby Bear is shocked to find out that his baby sister Curly Bear has a louder growl than he does! This becomes a serious problem for Baby Bear who thinks that since hes the big brother, he should have a louder growl than his little sister. Baby Bear asks different people for help in trying to figure out how he can have a louder growl than Curly. Big Bird tries to help by telling Baby Bear to do exactly everything Curly Bear does when she growls (sucking her thumb, stretching her arms, tugging her ear), but that doesnt work. Then, Professor Gary Gill comes by with an animated letter "G," and tells Baby Bear that in order to have a louder growl, he must use his imagination to make the letter G" grow as he figures out words that start with the letter "G." This doesnt work either and Curly Bear still has a louder growl. Papa Bear then helps Baby Bear feel better by realizing that instead of being upset and embarrassed, he should be proud of having a sister who has such a special gift. Theme: Coping w/ Emotions and Social Interactions. Letter G. Number 20.

Tuesday, Dec. 14
"Baby Bear Cant Get Curly to Fall Asleep" Baby Bear is taking care of his little sister, Curly Bear, for her naptime today! Baby Bear usually puts Curly right to sleep by giving her a little blanket and her favorite doll, then reading her a fun book called "Find the Bears." But today, Baby Bear is shocked because his fool-proof napping system doesnt seem to be working! Baby Bear thinks maybe he just needs to read the book again, but that doesnt work. Then, Baby Bear figures out a Plan B- to beg Curly Bear to fall asleep, but that doesnt work either! Maria suggests singing her a Spanish lullaby, but Curly is still wide awake. The Fairy Napmothers sparkly magic fairy dust doesnt seem to help Curly Bear fall asleep either. All of a sudden, Oscar the Grouch offers to help Baby Bear put Curly to sleep as long as they stop all the cutesy nap talk. Oscar then creates as much grouchy noise as possible with jackhammers, goats tap dancing, and drums. To Baby Bears surprise, all this loud noise has finally put Curly Bear to sleep! Theme: Social Interactions and Reasoning. Letter V. Number 8.

Wednesday, Dec. 15
"Elmos Fairy Godperson Grants His Wish to be a Bird" After seeing how much fun Big Bird is having while fluffing his feathers, Elmo wishes that he was a feathery bird, too. All of a sudden Elmos Fairy Godperson appears, and grants him his wish! Elmo turns into a bird with wings for flapping and a beak for pecking. He can even fly and chirp like a bird! Big Bird and Elmo-Bird have a great time doing bird things together, and even go to a Birdketeer meeting. While Big Bird thinks that this is all wonderful, hes beginning to think that if Elmo-Bird is going to be a bird forever, hell miss his furry monster friend, Elmo. Elmo also realizes that he misses being himself and wants to be Elmo again. Big Bird calls on the Fairy Godperson, who changes Elmo back into his furry monster self. Big Bird is happy to have his friend back, and Elmo is happy to be a monster again, too. Theme: Misc. Letter X. Number 2.

Thursday, Dec. 16
"Best Pet in the World" Zoe, Telly, Elmo, and Baby Bear get into a debate about who has the best pet. Each of them expresses all of the reasons that a certain pet is the best and they get very heated. The friends start to get really frustrated and angry at each other, and eventually Maria comes by to see what is going on. The friends explain their problem to Maria. She helps them see that each pet is the best pet for each of them for different reasons. If each of them loves their pets, then they are all the best pets in the whole wide world. Problem solved. Theme: Social Interactions and Global Awareness. Letter B. Number 8.

Friday, Dec. 17
"Curly Doesnt Like Porridge" Telly is announcing the big event! Curly Bear is going to try porridge for the very first time and Baby Bear is extremely excited. When Curly Bear tries the porridge, however, she spits it out in disgust. Baby Bear is rather upset by this as he feels Curly Bear just has to like porridge. Shes his sister! He tries offering Curly different types of porridge to no avail. She just doesnt like it and Baby Bear feels that maybe that means she doesnt like him. Alan helps Baby Bear understand that even best friends have different tastes for many things and it is the same way with families. Baby Bear and his sister will not be exactly the same and this is not only okay, it is a special part of their relationship. Theme: Global Awareness and Social Interactions. Letter N. Number 3.
