8:30AM Sesame Street

Monday, Nov. 1
"Baby Bear Adjusts to Curlys Big Growl" Baby Bear is shocked to find out that his baby sister Curly Bear has a louder growl than he does! This becomes a serious problem for Baby Bear who thinks that since hes the big brother, he should have a louder growl than his little sister. Baby Bear asks different people for help in trying to figure out how he can have a louder growl than Curly. Big Bird tries to help by telling Baby Bear to do exactly everything Curly Bear does when she growls (sucking her thumb, stretching her arms, tugging her ear), but that doesnt work. Then, Professor Gary Gill comes by with an animated letter "G," and tells Baby Bear that in order to have a louder growl, he must use his imagination to make the letter G" grow as he figures out words that start with the letter "G." This doesnt work either and Curly Bear still has a louder growl. Papa Bear then helps Baby Bear feel better by realizing that instead of being upset and embarrassed, he should be proud of having a sister who has such a special gift. Theme: Coping w/ Emotions and Social Interactions. Letter G. Number 20.

Tuesday, Nov. 2
"Elmo Feels Hes Treated Unfarily by Rocco" Elmo is excited to play with his friend, Gabi, who is working in Hoopers Store while Alan is away on vacation. Elmo also lets Zoe and Rocco to play with them, too. As they are playing, Zoe and Elmo run into arguments over what games they should play, then what games they should play first, and even about who is first in line to play. While playing on the tire swing, Elmo and Zoe learn how to play fairly by taking turns or riding on the swing together. After playing on the tire swing, they all eat snacks together. Elmo and Zoe get upset again as they are eating cookies since Zoe gives Rocco the cookie that Elmo wants. Elmo is even more frustrated since he thinks that it is unfair for Zoe to give a cookie to a rock. Zoe is extremely upset because she thinks Elmo is being unfair to Rocco by saying that it is just a rock. Gabi steps in and helps Zoe realize how Elmo has actually been very fair to Rocco all day. Elmo is also able to realize that he should be more understanding and nicer to Rocco since Rocco is Zoes friend. Theme: Social Interactions and Reasoning. Letter U. Number 3.

Wednesday, Nov. 3
"Baby Bear Cant Get Curly to Fall Asleep" Baby Bear is taking care of his little sister, Curly Bear, for her naptime today! Baby Bear usually puts Curly right to sleep by giving her a little blanket and her favorite doll, then reading her a fun book called "Find the Bears." But today, Baby Bear is shocked because his fool-proof napping system doesnt seem to be working! Baby Bear thinks maybe he just needs to read the book again, but that doesnt work. Then, Baby Bear figures out a Plan B- to beg Curly Bear to fall asleep, but that doesnt work either! Maria suggests singing her a Spanish lullaby, but Curly is still wide awake. The Fairy Napmothers sparkly magic fairy dust doesnt seem to help Curly Bear fall asleep either. All of a sudden, Oscar the Grouch offers to help Baby Bear put Curly to sleep as long as they stop all the cutesy nap talk. Oscar then creates as much grouchy noise as possible with jackhammers, goats tap dancing, and drums. To Baby Bears surprise, all this loud noise has finally put Curly Bear to sleep! Theme: Social Interactions and Reasoning. Letter V. Number 8.

Thursday, Nov. 4
"Miles Band Needs a Quiet Place to Practice" Miles and his band members are having a hard time finding a quiet place to practice. Their practice first gets disrupted by nursery rhyme characters, then Elmo, who wants to tell everyone the letter of the day, and then Zoe, who comes in with the number of the day! Miles decides that in order to keep practicing, maybe it would be best for them to find another place to practice. Oscar offers his trashcan as a place for them to practice, but Miles thinks that this may not be the best place since theres already another band playing there. Finally, Gordon has a great idea for the band to practice up on the roof, which turns out to be the perfect place! All this practice seems to pay off at the end as Miles and his band perform a great song about Sesame Street for everyone. Theme: Coping w/ Emotions. Letter W. Number 5.

Friday, Nov. 5
"Elmos Fairy Godperson Grants His Wish to be a Bird" After seeing how much fun Big Bird is having while fluffing his feathers, Elmo wishes that he was a feathery bird, too. All of a sudden Elmos Fairy Godperson appears, and grants him his wish! Elmo turns into a bird with wings for flapping and a beak for pecking. He can even fly and chirp like a bird! Big Bird and Elmo-Bird have a great time doing bird things together, and even go to a Birdketeer meeting. While Big Bird thinks that this is all wonderful, hes beginning to think that if Elmo-Bird is going to be a bird forever, hell miss his furry monster friend, Elmo. Elmo also realizes that he misses being himself and wants to be Elmo again. Big Bird calls on the Fairy Godperson, who changes Elmo back into his furry monster self. Big Bird is happy to have his friend back, and Elmo is happy to be a monster again, too. Theme: Misc. Letter X. Number 2.

12:30PM Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Monday, Nov. 1
Be Yourself: That's the Best: Throughout this week, Mister Rogers helps children know that it can be fun to pretend about being stronger or braver than you are, but what's best is knowing you are fine as you are. Flying is on everyone's mind, when Mister Rogers flies a remote control plane, watches the juggling Flying Karamazov Brothers, and pretends about X the Owl giving free flying lessons in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.

Tuesday, Nov. 2
Be Yourself: That's the Best: Magician David Copperfield talks about flying as a magic trick. To be able to do any kind of magic trick, it takes a lot of practice. There's real flying on Mister Rogers' video that was made years ago when he learned to fly an airplane.

Wednesday, Nov. 3
Be Yourself: That's the Best: Jazz notes fly in the air from The Uptown String Quartet. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Prince Tuesday gets hurt when he tries to fly, armed with a special hat and "high-flying" encouragement from Lady Elaine Fairchilde. Mister Rogers helps children know that nothing like a magic hat can make a person fly.

Thursday, Nov. 4
Be Yourself: That's the Best: Mr. McFeely brings a video that shows how people make sleeping bags. A different kind of "bag" is Ida Clowney's specialty she makes bean bag dolls. After more discussion in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe about Prince Tuesday's fall, Mister Rogers helps children know that adults make rules because they want children to be safe.

Friday, Nov. 5
Be Yourself: That's the Best: A hula hoop expert, Paul Tifford, gives Mister Rogers some lessons. It takes a lot of practice to be able to use a hula hoop well. Falling and getting up again are a part of learning, for toddlers and for most things in life. Mister Rogers helps children know that somehow inside of us, we know what we're able to do and what we have to just keep trying to do. No matter what we're able to learn or what we're not able to learn, we're still lovable just the way we are.

When Celia lucks into a Good Samaritan relationship with a dying woman who owns a houseful of treasures, it’s almost more than her conscience can bear. The 40-minute gem is followed by a short monologue featuring Bennett himself, reminiscing about growing up in postwar Britain.

Rosita begins to feel sad and embarrassed by her accent, and explains that she sounds this way because she is from Mexico and she cant help the way she talks. Rosita then tries to get rid of her accent in order to speak like everyone else, but since she cant, she decides that she would rather not speak at all. Big Bird, Gabi and Miles try to tell her that they love the way she speaks, and that everyone has a unique voice and way of speaking. They also sing a song called "Music of the Street" to show Rosita that these unique differences are what makes up the beauty of the street! In the end, not only does Rosita realize that she should be proud of her accent, but she also teaches the two kids a couple words in Spanish! Theme: Coping w/ Emotions and Literacy. Letter Y.
