PBS 45 & 49 local productions for classroom use
PBS 45 & 49 have a long tradition of producing both general audience programs and instructional programs designed to meet Ohio's proficiency test standards as well as the needs of teachers all over the state. One of our top priorities is to create educator web sites to extend the value of our local productions in the classroom. These educational materials, focused on addressing the standards, include suggested curriculum ideas to make our programs more useful in your classroom.
Almost all of PBS 45 & 49's local productions for general audiences are accompanied by online educator materials. Main Street America, Act of Duty, A Simple Life, Dirty Little Secrets: Foundations From the Past, twentyfourhours and Floating on Air are unique programs that highlight an aspect of daily life or a slice of history of northeast Ohio. To learn more about these classroom resources and how you might use them, log on to our web site at http://www.pbs4549.org and select the Local Programming link. From there, you can investigate the educator components and consider how these television productions might be integrated into your future projects.
We're getting close to the end of our ITV broadcast season, but these local productions will return to our schedule next school year and merit your consideration as useful tools for your classroom.
