8:30AM Sesame Street

Monday, Aug. 30
"Sesame Street Presents: The Street We Live On." Elmo is thinking about Sesame Street and through the usual format for Elmo's World, we are taken on a journey around the show. We meet all of the Sesame characters and Elmo learns more by watching a whole bunch of great library inserts as well as Street Stories that serve as flashbacks to special events including Gabi as a baby, and the day Susan and Gordon adopted Miles. Finally, after thinking about Sesame Street so much, Elmo makes an announcement to the whole gang, "Elmo wants to say that Elmo loves Sesame Street and all his friends very much." The entire Sesame Street cast singing a new composition called “The Street We Live On,” Theme: Reasoning. Letter C. Number 10.

Tuesday, Aug. 31
"Best Pet in the World" Zoe, Telly, Elmo, and Baby Bear get into a debate about who has the best pet. Each of them expresses all of the reasons that a certain pet is the best and they get very heated. The friends start to get really frustrated and angry at each other, and eventually Maria comes by to see what is going on. The friends explain their problem to Maria. She helps them see that each pet is the best pet for each of them for different reasons. If each of them loves their pets, then they are all the best pets in the whole wide world. Problem solved. Theme: Social Interactions and Global Awareness. Letter B. Number 8.

Wednesday, Sept. 1
"Curly Doesnt Like Porridge" Telly is announcing the big event! Curly Bear is going to try porridge for the very first time and Baby Bear is extremely excited. When Curly Bear tries the porridge, however, she spits it out in disgust. Baby Bear is rather upset by this as he feels Curly Bear just has to like porridge. Shes his sister! He tries offering Curly different types of porridge to no avail. She just doesnt like it and Baby Bear feels that maybe that means she doesnt like him. Alan helps Baby Bear understand that even best friends have different tastes for many things and it is the same way with families. Baby Bear and his sister will not be exactly the same and this is not only okay, it is a special part of their relationship. Theme: Global Awareness and Social Interactions. Letter N. Number 3.

Thursday, Sept. 2
"Alans Vacation Replacement" Alan is planning a vacation and he is excited to go away. Big Bird is very upset and cant believe that Alan wont be at Hoopers Store. Nothing will ever be the same again! Alan has advertised that he will be looking for someone to fill in for him when he is gone. Natalie stops by for a glass of juice and ends up making an omelet and singing about it. Alan hires Natalie on the spot and goes off to pack for his trip. Baby Bear and Big Bird have a very hard time adjusting to Natalie replacing Alan, and are anxious about the change. However, they get to know Natalie and she teaches them how some changes can be good changes. They realize that change doesnt always have to be bad. Natalie makes a birdseed milkshake just as Big Bird likes it, with birdseed! Theme: Coping w/ Emotions and Global Awareness. Letter D. Number 17.

Friday, Sept. 3
"Cinderellas Fairy Godmothers Mistake" Zoe and Baby Bear are very excited because Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother are visiting Sesame Street! However, when it is time for Cinderella to go to the ball, her Godmother accidentally turns Cinderella into a chicken! The Fairy Godmother is distraught. She hands her wand over to Zoe and Baby Bear and leaves! Zoe and Baby Bear decide that they can figure out how to help get Cinderella to the ball. They remember that the Fairy Godmother had said, "Meatballs" three times when she turned Cinderella into a chicken so they try saying various other words to no avail. Finally, they decide to change the way they wave the wand. They wave the wand in a different direction, but this doesnt work either. Finally, they decide that Cinderella really does need her Fairy Godmother and they help her Godmother to realize that its okay to make mistakes and that she can try again. The Fairy Godmother waves her wand and gets it right and Cinderella is Cinderella again, going to the ball. Theme: Coping w/ Emotions and Social Interactions. Letter E. Number 5.
