1:00PM Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Monday, July 26
When Things Get Broken: Mister Rogers shows some things he can do on the computer and talks about how children can use their imaginations for things they can't do on the computer. After using a computer mouse, he makes up a story for the Neighborhood of Make-Believe about a different kind of mouse and it's missing from King Friday's castle.

Tuesday, July 27
When Things Get Broken: Children at the library make model houses and buildings from boxes. In Make-Believe, the neighbors find that the mouse King Friday is looking for is a Spanish-speaking, hula-twirling mouse.

Wednesday, July 28
When Things Get Broken: Audio-kinetic sculptor, George Rhoads, shows Mister Rogers some of his whimsical fancy "ball machines." In Make-Believe, King Friday is angry that Lady Elaine has other plans for his Hula Mouse, and he breaks Lady Aberlin's toy ball machine. Mister Rogers helps children know that it can be scary when grownups get angry and talks about ways to handle their angry feelings.

Thursday, July 29
When Things Get Broken: Joe Negri fixes a broken ukulele by replacing a string. Some things that are broken can be fixed. But in the Make-Believe story, the neighbors have hurt feelings about King Friday breaking something in his anger, and their feelings can't be easily fixed. Lady Elaine announces her plans for a Round display. Mr. McFeely brings a video showing how people make bread.

Friday, July 30
When Things Get Broken: Mister Rogers has a marble slide and shows a video about how people make marbles. At the Dance Alloy studio, Mister Rogers watches children and adult dancers using their bodies to tell a story. In Make-Believe, King Friday apologizes and lets everyone know he is genuinely sorry for breaking something in anger. The neighbors celebrate by bringing something round to Lady Elaine's party. Mister Rogers helps children know it's safe to talk about all kinds of feelings, even to say "I'm sorry."
