Crafts Around the World explores different countries and cultures through their crafts. The body of each program includes five or six different projects, each introduced with interesting facts about the craft and its significance to that country. Although the projects have specific steps and outcomes, each project allows for the student's creative input. The programs close with a hands-on project to show how kids can help other kids through craft projects.

A generic supply list is provided along with a demonstration of all the steps of the project. All projects call for easily-found general craft materials (many recycled) that are readily available through most school distributors or local retailers. The project criteria include attention to cost per student, minimal set-up time and the ability to complete projects in one class period or over multiple short time periods. There is no need for art training by the classroom teacher.
