Check out PBS 45 & 49?s new technology workshops

by David Benson, Educational Technology Consultant ()

So, are you excited to be back? Are you feeling that exhilarating rush of the school year beginning?

Okay, maybe I'm making it sound a little more exciting than it really is, but I've noticed this fascinating pattern with the majority of educators I've met in my lifetime: by the end of the school year they're really ready for summer to begin, but by the end of summer they can hardly wait for school to start back up.

In many ways, our staff is not much different from the teachers we serve. We tend to set up our professional development curriculum over the summer. We develop new courses, we experiment with the design and sometimes we test the workshops on our summer students so that by the end of the season we have created new offerings when we return in the fall.

Well, this year isn't any different. We have some great new professional development workshops for you in which you'll discover new and interesting projects and technologies to use in your classroom. We have also designed many of these new offerings to help you satisfy technology requirements that the state now wants you to fulfill.

So turn to the back page of this newsletter and take a look at our new workshops. Or go to our Web site and read more about them at http://www.pbs4549. org/TKNEWS/WORKHOP.HTM. We think you'll find something fun, helpful, interesting and useful for the coming year.

Oh, while I think of it ? welcome back! We look forward to seeing you at some of our workshops and classes, and we all hope you have a truly fantastic year.
