Technology Teacher of the Year Award

Lynn Holloway of Field Local Schools (center, left) and Laurie Williams of Hudson City Schools (center, right) received recognition from Susan Tave Zelman, Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Ohio Gov. Bob Taft.

At this year's Ohio SchoolNet Conference, two teachers from the PBS 45 & 49 region were nominated for the Ohio Technology Teacher of the Year Award. Lynn Holloway of Field Local Schools and Laurie Williams of Hudson City Schools were among 11 finalists competing for the honor.

Their superintendent, their building principal or the district technology coordinator nominated the teachers and the nominations were evaluated on criteria laid out by the Ohio SchoolNet Commission. The criteria encompassed consistent use of technology in a teaching discipline; innovative applications of technology to classroom needs; development of instructional materials; instructional impact on teachers and students; impact on stakeholders; technology-based professional development and training; and contributions and achievements over and above assigned duties.

This year's Technology Teacher of the Year honor went to Carol Fleck of Lake County's Painesville Township Local School District.

Congratulations to Lynn and Laurie for their nominations for the Ohio Technology Teacher of the Year Award!
