PBS 49 power restored
Copley-based PBS 49 is back on the air as of Friday, July 30. While we are currently operating at less than full power, all cable systems in the greater Cleveland and Medina areas are able to pick up and carry a clear signal. Non-cable and non-satellite viewers watching PBS 49 should be receiving a strong signal unless they live on the fringes of our signal area, in which case reception may be weak.
Cable systems in the greater Akron and Canton areas and in southern Cuyahoga County were able to redirect their receivers to pick up the Salem-based PBS 45 signal. Most cable-subscribing households in these areas experienced no disruption in service.
PBS 49 went off the air last Sunday, July 25 as the result of multiple parts failures in our transmitter. Our engineers worked tirelessly throughout the week to restore power and are continuing to work to restore the signal to 100% capacity.
PBS 45 & 49 is very sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this has caused viewers. For more information, contact PBS 45 & 49 at or send e-mail to
