Ride along with the Ohio Reading Road Trip

Beginning next year, you'll be able to take your students on an exciting journey through Ohio's literary heritage with the Ohio Reading Road Trip. This exciting curriculum for 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade students integrates multimedia components such as a video, DVD and an interactive web site to engage students in works by some of Ohio's best-known authors.

Materials to support the project include a teachers guide with lessons that are aligned with state standards for Language Arts; a travelogue broadcast that takes students to the places where Ohio authors have lived and worked; and a live Q & A broadcast that brings students and writers together for a lively exchange.

The Ohio Reading Road Trip curriculum will be offered at no cost to all Ohio teachers who attend one of the free professional development workshops offered statewide. Teachers will also have the opportunity to take an online graduate- level course through Wright State University.

To find out more, send an e-mail with your name, school, grade level, school address, district, phone number and e-mail address to , or call . In the subject line of the e-mail, please include the name of the publication in which you read about the project.
