SchoolNet Technology Teacher of the Year Award
The staff of PBS 45 & 49, in conjunction with Ohio SchoolNet, is pleased to announce the following two regional finalists in the first annual Ohio SchoolNet Technology Teacher of the Year Award: Eric Van Raepenbusch of Coventry Local Schools and Charlene Koberna of Hudson City Schools.
These candidates, selected from a field of many excellent applicants, are among 16 finalists across the state to be considered for the honor of being named State Technology Teacher of the Year. The candidates were nominated by their district superintendent, or the superintendent's designee, and nominations were forwarded to the Educational Technology agencies that used SchoolNet's rubric for the selection process.
Team members from the Ohio SchoolNet Commission, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, and the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory will join together to score the applications of the two finalists from each educational technology agency to determine the 2003 Technology Teacher of the Year.
The winner will be honored at the Leadership Forum at the State Technology conference and will receive $1,500 toward educational technology for his/her classroom, an award plaque, lodging for two nights at the conference hotel and registration for the three days of the conference.
All of the 16 finalists are invited to the Leadership Forum of the conference where each will receive a plaque and congratulations from Ohio SchoolNet Executive Director Samuel H. Orth, III and Superintendent of Public Instruction Susan Tave Zelman.
