Under construction

By Rebecca Nero, Educational Technology Consultant

PBS 45 & 49 always exist in a state of growth and change: programs, facilities, Web sites

This summer, construction began on a new broadcast tower for our digital conversion. Lots of work went into this construction, but even if you've visited our facility, you probably have not seen the results. Why? Because it's underground, a mammoth foundation consisting of three 40-foot-deep, five-foot-diameter holes in the ground, filled with 604,500 pounds of concrete and rebar cages. You can't see the foundation, but you better believe it's important. And construction is continuing.

Likewise ...

Construction is continuing on our new Web site (http://wneo.org). Since a good Web site is continually under construction, you'll see no "Under Construction" clipart on our pages. However, we have a solid foundation and are building on it.

As you begin the school year, take advantage of our support. Visit our hotlist of hotlists. Save time and money! We've searched the Internet for you so that you can easily find what you need. We're busily streamlining the hotlists to increase their usefulness for you. Please e-mail the Webmaster (use the hyperlink at the bottom of any wneo.org Web page) when you find a good site to add and when you find a "missing link." No matter how hard we work to keep our lists up-to-date, Web sites constantly move and disappear.

So how do you navigate to these hotlists? Just direct your browser to http://pbs4549.org, click on "Classroom Projects" and then on "Hotlists" OR, in your browser location box, type http://wneo.org/hotlists and tap your keyboard "Enter" key. While you're at our site please take a look at the other content available to you.

As always, we welcome your input. You know more about the support you need than our Webmaster does. I guarantee it
