Garfield Island has produced a free Internet Safety 101 kit. That's right comic-strip Garfield. The kit includes a child-friendly browser that parents and teachers can use to surf-control the Internet. The browser can also be set to prevent the user from tampering with the underlying computer. The kit contains a lesson plan for explaining Internet use to children, an activity sheet, an award sheet and the browser. For a monthly fee, Garfield Island provides an Internet community for children that includes a chat room; however, the basic kit is FREE. Visit http://www.garfieldisland.com/teacher_kit.asp .
