A recent Associated Press poll found that the American public is roughly evenly divided on the importance of students being able to use the Internet for school work. About half said Internet skills are extremely/very important and the other half said they are somewhat important/not important at all. Source: USAToday.com, Aug. 2000.
Nine out of ten American children ages 6 to 17 had access to a computer in 2000, with four out of five using a computer at school and two out of three using one at home, according to a Census Bureau report. Census figures showed that 54 million households, or 51%, had one or more computers in 2000 up from 42% in 1998.

How many children watch TV "mainly alone"? 13% of 2-7-year-olds and 22% of 8-13-year-olds.
How many children have a TV set in their bedroom? 26% of children ages 2-4 and 65% of children ages 8-18.
