Do

Bubble Makers

Many items can become bubble makers. Try using the following items to make new and interesting summer bubble fun!

  • Clean plastic fly swatter with lots of holes.
  • Cut the bottom off of a paper cup. Dip the large end in bubble solution and blow through the smaller end for bigger bubbles.
  • Dip one end of a toilet paper roll or paper towel tube into the bubble solution and blow through the other end.
  • Embroidery hoops.
  • Plastic berry baskets.

Homemade Bubble Recipe

1/2 cup dish detergent (like Joy or Dawn)

5 cups water

2 tbsp. glycerine (available at pharmacies)

Combine dish detergent and water in a clean pan and stir (but don't shake!). Then stir in the glycerine (if you have any -- it tends to make the bubbles stronger). Making the bubble recipe a day in advance makes it stronger. For scented bubbles, add several drops of peppermint or lemon extract.
