Three Good Reasons to Watch PBS 45 & 49

  1. We don’t air commercials. Advertisements can create conflict between parents and children by convincing kids to ask for things that you would prefer they not have. On PBS 45 & 49, your child’s programs are not interrupted by commercials.
  2. Our programs are based on research by educators. There are lots of places to turn for programs that won’t harm your kids, but why settle for the least when you can get the best? PBS programs are designed to be educational as well as entertaining, and they are backed by research, so you can trust them to nourish the educational growth of your child.
  3. We offer a wide range of age-appropriate programs. It’s obvious that a 12-year-old is able to do different activities than, say, a three-year-old. The same is true for TV viewing. What’s okay for older children to watch may not be appropriate for preschoolers. Our programs are designed for narrow age groups, such as “Ages 2-5,” “Ages 3-7” and so on.

PBS 45 & 49 Membership Campaign

You know your preschoolers love Arthur and Clifford and Sesame Street and all the PBS KIDS programs! But do you know how PBS 45 & 49 keeps them on the air? Through the generous contributions of viewers like you! During our March Membership Campaign, please take the time to give the generous gift of your membership to help keep the best children’s television programming on PBS 45 & 49.
