Angelina Ballerina
Making friends and being a friend are not easy tasks for all children. Preschoolers need opportunities to play with children their own age in order to learn how to make friends, how to cooperate and how to get along with others. Angelina Ballerina, a new PBSKids series, and its companion Web site at
http://www.angelinaballerina.com provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to help young children learn about friendship.
Dancing her way into the hearts of children, Angelina Ballerina is a little mouse who yearns to become a prima ballerina in this animated series, based upon the popular children’s book series by writer Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig. Through her quest of learning dance, Angelina meets many friends and has a lot of adventures.
British actress Finty Williams brings Angelina to life, and her real-life mother, Academy Award-winning actress Dame Judi Dench, voices the part of Miss Lilly, Angelina’s mentor and dance instructor.
Targeted at three to seven-year-olds, Angelina Ballerina follows the (mis)adventures of the passionate young mouse-girl who dreams of ballet stardom but manages to propel herself into humorous escapades that teach valuable life-lessons about honesty, determination and a host of other positive values. Each program features two animated episodes and concludes with a live-action dance instruction segment sure to educate and inspire young viewers.
