PBS 45 & 49s two-part series, Final Decisions, explore end-of-life issues on the local level
In Final Decisions, reporter Jody Miller talks with a wide range of people who work and live with issues of death and dying, including healthcare professionals, clergy, public policy leaders and families that have gone through the terminal illness of loved ones. Miller explores hospice services, spiritual dimensions in death, palliative care, legal issues, grief in the workplace and more.
Among those who provide insight into local end-of-life issues are Steven M. Radwany, M.D., medical director of Hospice of Summa and Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) in Summit County; Lynn Juppe, a VNS hospice nurse; Lori Flesher, social worker and bereavement counselor with Hospice of Summa; hospice volunteer Mel Wolfman of Akron; Kathy Blair, a dietician with Hospice of Summa; and Linda Gregson, spiritual counselor with VNS. Representatives from Canton, Youngstown and Warren are also included in the two broadcasts.
Jody Miller is associate editor of Akrons West Side Leader and a regular panelist on PBS 45 & 49s NewsNight Akron.
