Smart educators know that sewing education is more than a domestic skill. A university study of children who sew revealed heightened levels of creativity. Sew Young, Sew Fun is the first and only television series designed to stimulate the young creative spirit through sewing. Thirteen easy sewing projects develop sewing skills while offering a fun and educational approach through hands-on activities. The use of other skills -- reading, math and more -- is used to complete each project.
Each of the 13 programs is divided into the following segments: "Before You Sew" lists the supplies you will need for the project(s) and cutting instructions; "Ready, Set, Sew" gives step-by-step instructions for constructing the project; "Just Sew You Know" reviews skills and provides helpful tips; "Gretchen Answers It" answers questions from the Sew Young, Sew Fun Web site; and "Stitches That Serve" highlights young people using their sewing skills to help others in need in their communities.
