The Learning Triangle Watch, Do & Read
PBS 45 & 49 encourage you to use "The Learning Triangle" when you watch our children's shows with your preschoolers. After you WATCH a program, try to DO a related hands-on activity and then READ a related book.
Maps &Traveling You can help children learn about maps and geography by using the very places they know: their neighborhood, hometown or favorite vacation spot. The following Learning Triangle will provide you with some resources for turning travel into learning.

Arthur is thrilled when Dad invites him to go fly-fishing for the weekend. Finally an escape from D.W.! But when a change in plans forces them to include her, Arthur has had enough. During a field trip to Amish country, Buster becomes enamored with the simple lifestyle and vows to forgo all modern conveniences back home. Neighborhood Map
Make a map of your neighborhood on a large poster board. You can include places such as your home, friends homes and other familiar landmarks to your child. You may want to include sites such as schools, parks, churches and stores.

License Plate
Help your child write his/her name on a rectangular piece of heavy cardboard. Decorate the edges to make an interesting border. Attach the plate to your childs favorite wheeled toy.

Different and the Same
While on trips, have your children make lists of what is like home and what is different from home. This will provide great information as you talk about your trip when you get home and could spark discussions about diversity,
geography, climate and more.
